Earning IAR CE For Fritz Meyer's Financial Economics Classes
If you are a regular attendee of Fritz Meyer's webinars and need IAR CE credits, successfully completing the IAR CE version of the live webinar is an excellent solution.
Fritz Meyer's webinars, delivered in a text based format meeting IAR CE requirements, earns 1.5 IAR CE credits. It requires reading the class transcript and slides and scoring a grade of 70% or more on a 15-question multiple-choice exam, but that's an efficient way to use of time to meet IAR CE requirements. As previously reported, NASAA is upping the bar on advisor CE by stiffening standards.
NASAA rules do not permit earning IAR CE credit without taking an exam. Unlike webinars for CFP and CPA financial planners, NASAA requires IA Reps to take an exam to earn IAR CE credit for watching a live webinar. CFP Board and NASBA/AICPA CE standards are more lenient than NASAA's requirements for IAR CE. NASBA/AICPE and CFP Board allow CFP and CPA financial advisors, by watching a webinar to earn CE/CPE credit without a scored assessment
A4A considered giving users a 10-question multiple choice questions after watching Fritz's 60-minute update, but that would earn one IAR CE credit by forcing you to watch the same presentation twice, which seemed silly. So we opted to deliver Fritz's November 2024 class as a reading assignment, which enables a deeper learning experience. It also earn 50% more education credits. The webinar is included, so you can watch it over again or zero in on the parts you have questions about.
NASAA IAR CE require advisors to earn 12 credits annually, comprised of six classes about ethics and six about products or practicing. Taking Fritz's classes in 2025 would fulfill an advisor's IAR CE requirements.
The assessment is essentially an open-book exam. No one can stop you from looking up the answers by searching the transcript. That's one approach. However, since you already watched the complete webinar live for CFP/CPA CE/CPE, reading the transcript and slides on a device with the charts and bullets in front of you makes for a deeper learning experience, which is why it earns more credits.
This class is being distributed on a new A4A CE/CPE platform. Let us know what you think of it.
