My 17 Year Old Son Wants The New 4G Verizon HTC Thunderbolt SmartPhone And Says It's Better Than An iPhone Hot
The HTC Thunderbolt looks like the biggest threat to the iPhone yet. It's 4G, which means it will have download speeds five to 10 times faster than the 3G iPhone. It offers a fast, new processor, 8 megapixel camera, uses Google's Android operating system.
My son is due for a new phone and has considered the iPhone since it debuted in June 2007. He's stuck with his BlackBerry because he and all of his friends use the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service to constantly instant message one another. But the BlackBerry's BBM app and the iPhone's great design appear insufficient to lure my technologically-minded teen.
Here's a video (skip to the middle) showing the HTC Thunderbolt versus the iPhone, and here's a story showing the specifications and features of the Thunderbolt versus the iPhone and Droid Bionic, another new contender to dethrone the iPhone.
The HTC Thunderbold is widely expected to be released February 24, while Droid Bionic is expected in mid-April.
