Does Dow Jones Understand The Independent Advisor Segment Of The Investment Advice Business?

 

Read Write Web reports that a new iPad app is now available that makes it easier to retrieve information in nine different languages, provides more content and news from social media sources, and brings nearly 600 continuously updated news feeds, including the Dow Jones, Reuters, and AP news wires. Users can also search for same-day coverage of major newspapers and read transcripts of various TV and radio news broadcasts.

 

While this sounds powerful, I don't know a single independent advisor who uses Factiva.

 

Dow Jones perhaps is popular with wirehouses and captive brokers I have not ever seen one of its professional products become popular with with independent financial planners or wealth managers. 

 

Is it purely price? Or does Dow Jones simply not understand this segment of investment advice business?
