Excellent comprehensive program with some questionable assumptions on some calcs.
We have used e-money for several years. We felt like we were co-developers as we found many errors and could communicate those directly to the company. Since the buyout they have a large bank user service area with many customer service reps ignorant to how the program works and the financial planning methodology employed. Access to the higher level that understand the items that need to be corrected is horrible. It is still a great program if you know the skeletons in the closet. If you expect to compelete the inputs and have correct output, don't fool yourself.
User Review
The Good
Probably the best program for comprehensive financial planning. Client output and website is user friendly.
The Bad
Some of the underlying algorithims and programming are severely flawed. For example, a transaction that would sell assets from a qualified plan shows the cash inflow but treats it tax wise as a contribution. If you enter that a business has a buy-sell agreement and enter a dollar amount of the insurance, you have no ability to specify the parameters of the insurance. If you then enter the life insurance under the life insurance section of the program, the insurance will be double counted.
The Bottom Line
Excellent program in the hands of an experienced user. We find that we have to do a 'gut check' on all of the numbers because we have encountered some wacky output. If you assume that all of the programming is accurate, you will be giving your clients incorrect information.
