ACT! 9.0 with Act4Advisors - a Decent App for a Sole Practitioner
Bottom line for me is that it's better than the app I had previously used--Goldmine, which was clunky. So ACT! (used with Act4Advisors) is a decent app for a sole practitioner.
User Review
The Good
Good for collecting basic client contact information and easy to use for scheduling activities. Plus, I can easily synch it with my Smartphone (Treo 650) so that contact data and calendar are up-to-date.
The Bad
Poor support policy. It's helpee-selfee. I feel for users who need tech support and have little technical background.
The Bottom Line
OK program for a modestly priced application. Before ACT, I used Goldmine, which I thought was much more clumsy and awkward to use. Goldmine didn't have a nice look-and-feel to it, and it truthfully reminded me of older, vintage MS-DOS apps. So I use ACT! in conjunction with Act4Advisors, which is an overlay app that runs with ACT!
