Outlook can be a great way to get a basic CRM system in place, especially if you customize forms.
Outlook is highly customizable. Custom forms can be created to capture most information you would want to track about a client. It is highly integrated with the other applications in Microsoft Office. At some point, you will need to either invest heavily in customization of Outlook or move to a dedicated industry specific CRM.
