Every month for nearly a decade, Fritz, an independent economist, sums up key data in an in-depth report that qualifies for continuing education credit for CFP®, CIMA®, CPA/PFS, and other financial professionals.  With a run of 12 straight five-star rated sessions, his stats make him a superstar among economists.

In 1992, Gatorade famously encouraged sports fans to “Be Like Mike.” If Fritz Meyer Is the Michael Jordan of financial economists, A4A wants to encourage financial professionals to Be Like Fritz!

With a little coaching, you can be like Fritz. Here’s how to get started right now: See below five  fairly simple steps to take right now to go deeper with Fritz.

Fritz’s April update is a two-hour, two credit session.  Fritz repeats some material every month — for example, “earnings drive stocks”—  because it's easy otherwise to focus on what’s happening at the moment and overlook fundamentals.  Like watching paint dry or time-lapse photography, notice how Fritz's update on stock valuations changes minimally month to month. Comments from attendees of this session are at the bottom of this post.

  1. Skin In the game. If you already have access to Fritz’s monthly slides, grab your favorite slide from his last presentation. If you do not have access to Fritz slides, you’ll need to buy them. It’s $50 a month for the next 12 months for access to the transcribed version of every PowerPoint slide Fritz presents. Once you have some skin in the game, you’re motivated to make it work.
  2. Start with Fritz’s favorite slide. Fritz would be first to admit that he gives almost the same talk about “earnings driving stocks” every month. He almost always mentions that his favorite of his 70-plus slides he updates monthly is the projection for earnings growth versus the price of the S&P 500. That slide is important, easy to learn, and always timely, making it a good place to start.
  3. A script for the earnings valuation slide is already in the Notes below the PowerPoint slide, but needs to be updated. The data shown in the slide is updated monthly moments before Fritz’s live session. However, the transcribed version of the slide is not available for a few days, but last month’s script is in front of yo right after the live session. Update it for what Fritz taught. If needed, replay that part of he webinar in which Fritz talks through that slide. Get it written in your own words!
Writing tip: Chop ideas into bullet points, if it is easier to get it out of your head. The hardest part of writing is getting ideas out of your head and in front of you. Once it’s in front of you, you can improve it, but the trick is to let yourself get it out of your head and keep going. You’ll fix it later.
  4. Say it out loud! Practice reading your script on the current valuation of the S&P 500. Repeat until ready.
  5. Unless you have video editing software, the easiest way to make a video is by hosting an online meeting using GoToMeeting, Zoom, etc. — and recording it. Then download the recording and you have a video. When you make the recording, you want to introduce yourself and show a title slide with your logo and contact information. Add your photo and maybe some information about something on your mind. After giving your earnings script presentation, end the webinar by saying goodbye and making an upcoming announcement or showing a way to get in touch with over the Web.

Comments:

  • Great
  • Fritz is very good.
  • He had some new material which was very useful and great info. I do understand his point about the importance of repetition though.
  • Great, as always
  • Excellent as usual.
  • Clear and concise on many topics
  • Great stuff
  • Different point of view than what you hear on the TV and read. Also, details back up his thoughts.
  • Well done
  • Always helpful with many insights.
  • Even though he's highly repetitious (and says so gladly), the data is repetitious and each time it's repeated he brings new insights and clarity about issues it's clear he has a great deal of knowledge and understanding. Also I think my colleagues are getting tired of me extolling Fritz, that's how much I can come to trust his opinion.
  • Information I do not get elsewhere
  • Survey question 3 is irrelevant
  • Very good
  • Best one yet
  • Fritz rocks
  • Very well done
  • Great webinar although a little long.
  • Wow a lot of data and analysis
  • Very helpful as always!
  • Terrific
  • Excellent
  • Fritz did a great job in presenting a compelling case for the on-going relationship between the economy and financial markets.
  • I've been listening to Fritz' presentations for as long as he's been giving them on A4A, not sure how many years that is, but a long time. Today I reflected a bit on his always-evolving presentation style and realized that he's become more polished at making the most important points to attendees. The presentation flows smoothly and in an orderly fashion. He has most of the most salient points down pat and this really enables better learning by attendees. In other words, it's sinking in. Thank you Fritz!
  • Very good, as always
  • Absolutely super
  • Good, I will have to re-watch the recorded webinar to catch all the things I missed as I was trying to multi-task at work!
  • Excellent
  • Top drawer!
  • Great
  • Good as usual, but for some reason I lost the audio connection for a short period of time. Then, after the audio came back online, the slides were not being updated for an extended period of time. Eventually, the slides started updating again to match what Fritz was discussing. Not sure the cause of this. I entered the issue in the chat window but got no responses.
  • Always reassuringly detailed with supportive data - very helpful!
  • Excellent, as always
  • Always like Fritz's charts and articles
  • Great, but let's stay in the allotted time frame
  • Too much information and presented too fast!
  • Great material, but the time allotted for the questions is pretty quick. If I have a phone call (I am at work) or a client pops their head in my office I will miss it.
  • Fritz is great and understandable

A Strategically Focused CE Curriculum

With classes approved for over a decade by the CFP Board, IWI, and NASBA, Advisors4Advisors CE classes are an optimal knowledge stream for CFP®, CIMA®, CPA, CPA/PFS®, CFA®, and other practitioners. It's not a grab bag of speakers willing to sponsor CE content. Nor is it a one-man CE course. It's a group of subject matter experts with amazing communication skills and a history of thought leadership that, together, give advisors a well-rounded knowledge system for running a professional practice ethically and intelligently.

CE Since October 2008

A4A CE classes for financial professionals began in October 2008, the week Lehman Bros. collapsed. Initially billed as “The Financial Crisis Webinar Series,” A4A connects advisors with authoritative sources on investing, tax, and financial planning, chosen by A4A Editor Andrew Gluck, a veteran financial reporter. A4A members get a stream of CE classes for an advisor who:

  • holds a CFP®, CIMA®, CPA, CPA/PFS, CFA or other designation requiring CE annually
  • values monthly CE classes by Fritz Meyer, Craig Israelsen, Frank Murtha, or Andrew Gluck
  • diversifies a core of client portfolios in low-expense funds
  • invests based on MPT and economic fundamentals
  • advises on tax and financial planning as well as investing
  • needs financial counseling skills
  • wants the Certified Financial Counselor™ designation
  • is building a brand as a thought leader locally or in a niche
  • wants the facts when bad news breaks
  • wants CE aligned with a content marketing system
  • wants 24/7 access to CE on-demand
  • insists on objective evidenced-based tax and investment planning analysis

It is not possible for me to overstate the cumulative value that Craig and Fritz have added for over 10 years to my investment advisory practice, as well as for personal and family financial planning. A4A gets my highest recommendation

I’ve subscribed to A4A since its inception, and always find it intellectually stimulating and on point. It’s one of the few CE solutions out there that doesn’t waste my time by pushing product or talking down to me.

A4A has had a profound effect on my business. Since 2009, I’ve relied on the consistent messaging and updates to run my business successfully. Being able to present the information from Fritz, and Craig's ongoing CE webinars has been a significant benefit.

I've been a financial professional and professor of finance for 35 years and find Fritz Meyer to be among the most engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and experienced presenters I’ve encountered. They deliver an extraordinary amount of information in an extremely interesting way — sequentially and developmentally, utilizing pedagogical tools and techniques that few possess.  A4A to is the most consistently excellent CE program available.
Ron Roge, MS, CFP®
I’ve been attending A4A many years because the CE classes are outstanding, and my time is valuable. Though I have over 35 years of experience, I’m always learning something new on A4A. I attend fewer conferences now because the CE is generally not advanced. If you want to learn from the best, in a faster, easier, and less expensive way, I highly recommend A4A.

I wouldn't miss a Fritz Meyer webinar unless my pants were on fire. I've relied on Andrew Gluck's knowledge systems --client communications and CE -- for two decades. It's simply the best solution for tax, financial, investment, and risk-management professionals.®

A4A, for over a decade, has been a great resource for useful and accurate information and CE. A4A and Advisor Products are bargains for an advisory practice.

I get CPA CE credit and CFP credit for the webinars.  But not only that, the A4A content is terrific
