RIM, makers of BlackBerry smart phones, has been slowly decimated by Google and Apple. Just when you thought things could not get any worse for the company, it's been ordered to pay $147.2 million in damages for infringing patents held by Mformation Technologies.

Jurors in federal court in San Francisco determined that the closely-held Mformation proved that a RIM software program enabling companies to manage workers’ BlackBerry devices remotely had infringed Mformation’s patents. The software is called BlackBerry Enterprise Server, says The New York Times.
