Dell's XPS 12, which has a touchscreen that flips on its axis, is one of the  new breed of "convertibles" -- laptops that do double duty as tablets, may well hit that convertible sweet spot for many.

It's still a bit too big and a bit too heavy to be a "tablet," but it's perfectly usable as a tablet in short bursts. And if you don't particularly care about the tablet functionality, the XPS 12 is still "a pretty great Ultrabook," says ARS Technica.

 

I'm waiting for the Microsoft-made Surface Pro to be launched in January.
