49 of E-Z Data's 125 U.S. Employees Reportedly Laid Off

 

Forty-nine of E-Z Data’s staff of 125 U.S. employees were laid off today, six days after its purchase by Ebix Inc. for $50.35 million.

According to an E-Z Data executive, layoffs affected employees from almost every department, from administrative staff, human resources, and accounting to tech support, product managers and developers.
 

E-Z Data is the dominant CRM solution in the life-insurance broker market in the U.S. and supports the requirements of investment and insurance advisors, brokerage General Agencies, broker/dealers, and insurance carriers on a common, On-Demand CRM and distribution platform. The company has said it has about 120,000 users in the U.S. and about 5,000 in Canada.
 

Ebix, which is publicly held, automates, expedites, and improves processes at life insurance, annuity, property and casualty, and health insurance companies. A spokesman did not return a call asking for comment in time for this post.
