Many Advisors Frustrated By Lack of Research, Information On Closed-End Funds

Closed-end funds offer benefits for investors seeking a predictable flow of income and an actively managed approach to global investments, yet most advisors choose exchange-traded funds instead.

Three out of four financial advisors responding to a recent survey said they need more research and communication from asset management firms that sponsor closed-end funds, according to Financial Planner magazine.


Among those respondents who already use closed-end funds, 99% said they are suitable for a wide variety of client portfolios, but 67% agreed they need more information on the funds. Aberdeen Asset Management commissioned the survey of 805 investment professionals in March.
