Which Countries Are Riskiest For Investors, And Which Are Safest?

While four countries in Africa and the Middle East rank as the riskiest in the world for investors and businesses, India and Russia are “high-risk” growth economies as well.

Maplecroft, a research and portfolio firm, issued its Global Risks Atlas 2011 this week. It evaluates 32 risk factors, from governance and security to resources and human rights.


In general, Maplecroft says, growth economies that are promising targets for investment are also more vulnerable to risk factors and least able to resist the effects of global risks.


The report also names the five least risky countries.
