After months of questions over whether Schwab aims to compete directly with its affiliated RIAs, the firm will launch a new ad campaign to promote those independent advisors.
It sounds good enough in theory.
But if the site relies too heavily on real advisors as the "face" of the entire RIA channel, I suspect it'll be great for those advisors -- especially those set up to do business nationwide.
For the rest of the Schwab advisors out there, it sounds a lot like linking to a potential competitor.
As such, it remains to be seen whether this will be a good thing or not.
