Commodities funds and ETFs play a key role in diversifying a low-expense portfolio but not all of them are alike.

This class reviews the role commodities played since 1970 in a diversified low-expense portfolio. It's a reminder of the long-term risks and rewards of this unique asset class.

Drilling deeper, Dr. Craig Israelsen also explores the wide variation in the performance and characteristics among mutual funds and ETFs invested broadly in commodities. Performance of 16 commodities securities products is reviewed for the eight years ended December 31, 2017. The results may surprise you, and, at this pivotal point in the economic cycle, help you avoid a bad outcome.

Craig Israelsen, Ph.D., for three decades, has helped define best practices for fiduciaries in managing low-expense portfolios, publishing his research monthly in Financial Planning magazine and teaching on A4A for many years.

Simply - awesome! If one were to do a search & learn about commodity funds, it's an instant head ache. You provided the aspirin this afternoon.
With commodities getting quite a bit of ink lately, performing very good in 2018, it would be great to get a YTD performance. Thank you gentlemen
