According to TechCrunch, the Touro Mobile Pro Portable Drive are already available with 500GB ($109.99) or 750GB ($129.99) on board, while the desktop version will be launched in three versions in June: 1TB ($129.99), 2TB ($179.99) or 3TB ($229.99).

You can also read details in the press release.

What I really like is the "belt and suspenders approach to backing up. Giving you both a local hardware system and cloud based backup gives you a certain level of comfort. If one system fails, the other should work.

I want more information on the security before saying advisors could use this solution, but you have to believe the cloud-based solution is fully encrypted. I've asked the company to let me know.

The other question that will need to be addressed is whether it will backup your Outlook files properly, meaning in a format that would salsify email archiving needs of RIAs.
