Most economists agree that the problems in the first quarter, from rising oil prices to the affects of the Japanese earthquake, should not be enough to knock the recovery off track, according to the Wall Street Journal poll.


The respondents forecast an average growth rate of 3.6% by the fourth quarter. Most believe the U.S. jobless rate will fall by year’s end, and nearly a third forecast interest-rate increases before the end of the year.
