As Europe Struggles, Emerging Markets Continue To Offer Promise As New Year Approaches
Many emerging-market nations continue to see a surge in middle-class consumers, and emerging-market fundamentals are generally strong.
Those are two reasons many analysts are again touting the emerging market sector as a promising place for U.S. investors to seek return.
“It’s getting more and more difficult to determine what is emerging,” said Michael Gitlin, director of fixed income for T. Rowe Price, according to AdvisorOne.
Investment strategists are pointing to growing middle classes in places like China, Southeast Asia, India and Brazil, where demand for goods and services is soaring. By contrast, developed nations in Europe and America are cutting back in the face of deficit and debt woes.
Emerging economies will benefit from better fiscal conditions, under-control inflation and strong GDP growth relative to developed markets, said Gitlin.
