This one-credit per quarter elective course draws on financial economic lessons from history to inform a professional’s investment outlook.

Financial markets are shaped by simple, stable forces over long periods of time. War and peace, the rise and fall of empires, climate change, natural disasters, pandemics periodically reshape the arc of history over periods much longer than humans live or can remember.

Consequences of these influential episodic forces are only evident to those who witnessed comparable events in the past, or who study history carefully. Doing so makes it easier to foresee the consequences of emerging events. A professional owes a duty to clients not to limit their financial economic knowledge to their own life experience.

Every quarter, a new class explores a chapter in history repeating historic events and how powerful forces influencing us today affected investors in the past.

Annual commitment.

$100 per quarter
