Enactment of SECURE Act elevated the benefits of Roth IRA conversions. Suddenly, SECURE Act made Roth IRA conversion a key tool for most families to transfer wealth to the next generation.

Roth IRA conversion, thus, has been elevated from a mere rate-arbitrage tactic, to be used in a low-income year, to a high-value estate planning technique. In addition to consumers benefiting financially, understanding the new dynamics under SECURE Act will aid financial planning professionals to the mass affluent.  Mastering this suddenly important aspect of professional knowledge will also help deepen a planner’s relationships with lawyers, trust officers, and other fiduciaries.

Bob Keebler says the shift from life expectancy RMDs on IRAs to SECURE Act’s 10-year distribution rule is a math problem. Showing you how to solve for the answer is the goal of this 1-credit continuing professional education webinar. This class, which is being made available for 24/7 replays with CE credit, covers:

• General conversion concepts
• Reasons to convert to a Roth IRA
• Taxation of Roth IRA conversions
• Taxation of Roth IRA distributions
• Mathematics of Roth IRA conversions
• Recharacterizations
• Federal and State Estate tax considerations
• The SECURE Act
• “Stretch” Roth IRAs for designated beneficiaries
• Roths for SNTs
• Roth to fund long-term care strategies
• Using insurance to preserve post-death “stretch-out”
• Tax-sensitive withdrawal strategies

Focused too much on the basic Roth Concepts and didn't provide much in the way of "High-Value Mass Affluent Tactic" info. Also skipped over key slides b/c of time constraints

He often goes over my head, but that's more of a reflection on me than him. :-)
