New privacy laws enacted in Massachusetts and Nevada are part of a national trend imposing additional responsibilities on advisors.
If your firm’s computers, PDAs, or servers store Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable information (PII) about your clients, it’s wise to attend this session to learn about:

  • When you must comply with privacy laws enacted by states other than your home state
  • Policies to document to mitigate your risk
  • Measures you must take to protect PII
  • Required notifications in the event of a breach

Tavelli is an associate in the Privacy and Data Security Practice Group of Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm founded in 1875. His work focuses on state and federal laws governing privacy and data security, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, CAN-SPAM Act, security breach notification laws, and data security and disposal requirements.

Sobering Information

Raises issues surounding personal information. We have one client in MA and I wanted information around the new rules. This webinar answered my questions and gave me more food for thought. I thought there were clever CE questions on the quizz.

This was a clear, articulate guy. Good delivery, good information, and willingness to disclose when not certain.

Thank you - I had no idea about these requirements in Massachussetts and Nevada. Keep up the good work.
