Webinar was confusing at best. Took me 3/4 of the way through to realize that when he was saying the RMD rate, he was applying it to both the tax deferred and taxable portion of the portfolio. I don't think this added anything to Bill Bengen's research that helped the world understand that a 4 to 4.5% withdrawal rate would keep a portfolio intact for 30+ years, but the average withdrawal rate that works is 7% and the best ever was 13%. I do not see a practical use for this research.
