Very cost-effective, holistic tool for automating a core function

User Review

The Good
Makes rebalancing quick and creates specific trade files to that effect
Easy interface with PortfolioCenter data
Can factor in tax-lot data for determining trades
Very strong tool for tax lot harvesting and capital gain distribution avoidance
Nice report allows advisor to quantify for client the benefits of tax loss harvesting, tax lot identification and capital gain distribution avoidance
Supportive staff with a commitment to improving the program
The principals state they are vested in their users success and that seems to be the case
Customizable in terms of applying our models and funds/ETFs
The Bad
There's quite an initial learning curve - to be expected I suppose with any kind of software this robust.
Had to change a few things in PortfolioCenter so asset classes and subclasses were more consistently applied (this is a good thing too as it forces a more disciplined thought process that we now use)
When Cash is an asset class and you need to keep certain minimums for client distributions in certain accounts, it takes a little finagling, but this is being improved as I understand it
Some of the reports could be a little more user-friendly or, some would say, aesthetic
The Bottom Line
Great program - especially after the initial setup - it is now hard to imagine doing again the manual review that we did before. For us, it has been well worth the commitment of time and money, freeing up time to do other things.
