User Review
The Good
Nicely integrated CRM, research, reporting, account reconciliation. Access to all Morningstar publications (e.g., Dividend Investor, ETF Investor, etc.). If you don't need the firepower of more robust CRM systems, MStar handles the basics well. Receives reports from Schwab (custodian) and allows for reconciliation/reporting without too many difficulties (easier than Schwab's own Portfolio Center in my opinion).
The Bad
CRM system needs improvement. Difficulty integrating with non-Morningstar and/or Outlook email and calendar. Blast emails keep defaulting to an Mstar email address instead of our company email.
The Bottom Line
When you consider the cost of separate programs for all the things MStar Office does, and you add all the included research (no small thing), and you add included access to all MStar publications, Office makes a solid contribution. Other separate programs may well do a better job at their specialty, but for our purposes, MStar Office gets the job done at a reasonable price.
