Familiar, fast and good integration with many other apps.

It does the job and doesn't require a lot of work.

The Good
Good integration with many other apps, lots of documentation/help/third party add-ons available from multiple third parties (web sites, author's, etc.) because it is an industry standard. Familiar, easy to use and fast (drag & drop). Doesn't require synchronization if used as sole CRM.
The Bad
It's Microsoft. Not a true relational CRM database, needs to be customized for financial services industry.
The Bottom Line
As a sole prop, and after many issues with ACT and Goldmine, I've ended up using Outlook as my sole CRM software. With add-ons like CCL from LeapBeyond, FileCenter Pro, and email and word mailmerge add-ons, it will do just about everything my former CRMs did without the syncing hassles. I use it with a hosted exchange server for wireless syncing to my Windows mobile PDA and it works great!
