The Good
MGP is a great planning tool. They have worked hard on providing integrations with other software providers that make data importing and exporting easy. We integrate with Redtail CRM, Precise FP Data Collection software, Finametrica Risk Tolerance and Morningstar Advisor Workstation. I also like that I can use MGP with clients during their meetings. The interface is very client friendly and they have several screens that are designed for client interaction.
The Bad
There is a high learning curve to be able to adequately use the software and be assured that your output is correct. Also, I really like that it is a goals based planning software but it does make cash flow planning for young clients difficult.
The Bottom Line
I'm very happy with MGP as our planning software and would recommend to other planners who are looking for a goals based solution that they can use interactively with their clients.
