A Brief Analysis of Redtail CRM and Imaging

As a comprehensive system - Redtail should be on of the three or four systems you evaluate if you manage a financial practice. Its combination of CRM and lightweight imaging enable a practice to explore going paperless before making a substantial investment in document management.

User Review

The Good
Redtail is one of the more progressive firms in our industry when it comes to integration. They have a nice foundation of support for some of the most popular tools in use for financial planning, data aggregation and portfolio reporting as well as document management. Additionally, they are the only tool I am aware of in the CRM space that pushes control and development of workflow automation to the end user. Workflow configuration is fairly intuitive and easy to change at a later time as your processes evolve. Cross browser and cross platform compliant. A good example of Software as a Service for our sector (SaaS).
The Bad
The system does not yet have a global export to allow users to build their Redtail data into their business continuity and backup procedures. This also limits the type of data mining one can do once your business has been populating the system for some time. I believe this will ultimately be available.
The Bottom Line
One of the most efficient, intuitive and economical tools in our space for CRM - though I am sure competitors are breathing down the path after them. One of the most sought after features I look forward to is an offline component for using Redtail when in transit (airplane, train, etc).
