  I’m among the miniscule number of people who uses a fingerprint reader instead entering passwords on my computer. That this advisor did not even know that he had a fingerprint reader on his computer got me thinking that I need to tell my readers about this handy piece of hardware. The Verge Reviews Surface Pro And Says It Falls Short

The Verge, a major online desitination for tech information, published a negative review of Surface Pro. The review raises some good points, saying the four hours of battery life is less than half of what you will get on a tablet and less than most ultrabooks and that you won't like to hold it or use it on your lap. I'll know more after I have one in my hands for a week. (I'm picking up my Surface Pro Saturday.) But I am optmiistic and think reviewers are way to critical about issues most people don't care about.

Microsoft Surface Windows 8 Professional Available For Pre-Orders In Long Island And Probably At A Store Near You

  I reserved a new Microsoft Surface Windows 8 Professional at my local mall in Long Island today and will be able to pick it up Saturday morning. According to the salesperson who helped me, the Microsoft store in Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York, is being asked to reserve the tablet/laptop about once an hour and I was the 30th person to pre-order the device at the store since this past weekend when Microsoft announced that some retail locations would accept pre-orders.
