For Advisors Looking For An Ultra-Thin Laptop, A New Candidate Appears To Be In The Offing

The specs on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 are impressive, including a 160 GB solid state hard drive, a second generation Intel i5 processor, and 8 GB of RAM.

It's more expensive than the MacBook Air, however, and new models of the Air, with i5 and i7 processors are expected in June.

Anyone considering this computer may also want to consider a Sony Vaio Z series as well as the new Samsung Series 9.

Looks like Sony no longer makes the Z series and replaced it with S Series. For a good laptop with an i7 processor, 256GB solid state drive, Office Pro and three-year service plan, expect to pay about $3700. http://bit.ly/sonylaps

I also priced the new ThinkPads today and they cost about the same.
