The Motorola Xoom, which gets rolled out Thursday by Verizon, is the first in a string of tablets that will be launched over the new few months. Reviewers generally praise the Xoom but say it is difficult to buy a tablet when you know that new, better ones will be release in late spring .
"It’s an impressive and attractive piece of kit, with a lot going on under the hood," TechCrunch's review of the Xoom. "But dangerous pricing and the threat of better and/or cheaper devices around the corner somewhat reduce its charm. If you can’t wait, though, the Xoom will probably satisfy your Honeycomb craving."
"The Xoom is well-conceived and well-constructed, but some rough edges, a middling display, and a high price may deter early adopters."PC World, which rates Xoom with 3 1/2 stars.
