Another web-based competitor to advisors has popped up — “a women-centered company with the mission of educating readers about money and how it affects all aspects of her life, from where to shop, what to buy and how to save. LearnVest publishes information about personal finance, time management, organization, career and relationships to enable every woman to lead a full life.”   Here’s the topper: LearnVest’s top solution is “Complete Financial Plan” created by a team of CFPs for $349.       Most advisors will dismiss

Airing Recent Comments On Advisors4Advisors About MoneyGuide Pro's New Pricing And CashEdge Versus By AllAccounts For Account Aggregation

In a post two weeks ago, I said I understood MoneyGuide Pro’s recent price increase, which spawned some important responses from advisors and a thrashing of CashEdge. TDAI is opening up its system to advisors by distributing an Application Programming Interface (API) for its custody system. It's open-architecture and allows TDAI-affiliated RIAs more flexibility and choice in choosing their technology vendors. Ope

As strange as it may seem to Registered Investment Advisers, B/Ds are concerned about possible liability exposure arising when clients are able to upload documents to their advisor’s online vault. While the issue could be dealt with contractually, it is worth mentioning the concern of one B-D and the improved configuration settings recently added to AdvisorVault to address the issue and others and that benefit RIAs as well as B-Ds.
