Cyber Underground, In What Appears To Be An All-Out Assault, Now Hacks Into Sega Gaming Site   Halt Sega Pass

Technorati says the Sega hack, which occurred Friday and follows breaches of Sony, Citi, the CIA, and IMF, amounts to an all-out declaration of war by cyber thugs and that security seems sloppy at these large enterprises.

Technorati indicates that it was an SQL injection that caused these big breaches, which is kind of surprising since that type of attack is common and defensible.

 

SQL is the Microsoft database used in many back-end systems on the Web. An SQL injection exploits a weakness in the database and commonly injects some code and it secretly runs undetected and can steal data and do other damage.
