Facebook will convert all business pages to its new Timeline format on March 30. Advisors have not yet converted to the Timeline format should do so now.

This means advisors will need to upload an image
to go across the top. Existing profile images will no longer be the first image people will see. Image requirements are a width of 399 pixels with no price, purchase, or contact information included. Calls to action are also forbidden.
What is now a profile picture will now be what people see on news feeds so it is still an important company representation. The new format will be more customizable and will allow companies to feature new posts at the top of the page for seven days. The new dashboard format will give more control over placement and will make it easier to monitor visitor feedback through ‘likes’ and new posts. There will also be a way to communicate with visitors directly through private messaging.
All in all, the new format will enable greater interaction between businesses and page visitors. Expanded capabilities will create yet another social media venue through which advisors can build community and grow their businesses.
