The Federal Reserve is the latest victim of a cybersecurity breach.

The Fed acknowledged on Tuesday February 5 that information had been hacked through a temporarily vulnerable point in a website vendor product.

This Website Is For Financial Professionals Only

The breach did not affect critical operations of the Federal Reserve System. The problem was resolved shortly after discovery and Fed officials at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond say it is no longer a problem.

No details were offered on the type of information the hackers were able to obtain or the specific site that was breached.

The hacker group Anonymous claimed on Sunday, February 3, that it had obtained access to information from the Fed belonging to 4000 bankers.
