Investors typically contemplate this time of year where they should invest their money after the first of the year. The decision is made more difficult this year by the looming fiscal cliff and the uncertainty surrounding it.
 
Experts at MFS Investment Management and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management have a few ideas they’ve decided to share.

They say that the US equities market is one area that investors are overlooking. Large cap companies and dividend stocks are two particularly attractive areas.
 
Global equities are favored over government bonds and investment grade corporate bonds are an antidote to continued low interest rates.
 
Latin American equities, on the other hand, seem overextended and ripe for a reversion to the mean.
 
David Darst, Morgan Stanley’s Chief Investment Strategist, also warns investors that holding gold is asking for a rude awakening.
