Wealthy Americans Are Sending More Of Their Investment Dollars Overseas

Among American families with $30 million or more in investable assets, the average family has one third of its assets overseas, according to a new survey by the Institute for Private Investors.

One in every five of these families has more than half their investments overseas, according to this Wall Street Journal article on the survey.


Most are buying overseas stocks, with some investing in hedge funds and private equity with foreign exposure.

 

Another study, by Spectrem Group, shows that more than 60% of investors with $25 million or more are investing overseas.
