Chinese imports of key commodities are falling, based on volume.

Chinese demand for oil, copper, iron ore and other metals has been a major factor in fueling the commodities boom of recent years, and most reports continue to reflect increasing demand.


However, that’s because the most common statistic is price, and prices have steadily risen. If you look at volume data, though, Chinese imports are falling, according to Capital Economics’ Julian Jessop, as cited by Kurt Brouwer of MarketWatch.
