Barnash will be helping Merion recruit advisors into its platform and grow their business, he says.

He spent the last year in a similar role at broker-dealer Capital Analysts Inc.

Merion is aiming to follow in the footsteps of RIA networks like HighTower Advisors in building a national brand of independent advisory shops.

The firm is currently private equity backed but will eventually be majority owned by its members.
