It turns out that "a number of documents were found to have been corrupted during the imaging process," which is of course technical jargon for a scanning error.

 

Until the offending documents can be scanned and re-uploaded, FINRA's decided to take the database offline.

 

Depending on the exact number of documents we're talking about, that could take at least a few days. But when the database is back, don't forget to check your file for errors.
